Passports & Visas
A valid passport is required for all Brand g charters; your passport must be valid for at least six months after your return. It is your responsibility to ensure your passport is valid and secure all required visas. Consult with the appropriate consulates to determine if any visas are needed. Vacations can be disrupted, or altered if the correct documents cannot be supplied at airports or border crossings; please check your itinerary carefully. In the event that you lose your passport while traveling, we recommend you photocopy the first pages of your passport, airline tickets, driver’s license and/or birth certificate to simplify and expedite the process of replacing lost documents. Keep the originals separate from the copies. This will make replacement easier if you lose them en route. It is also useful to carry spare passport photos. You may wish to scan your passport, airline tickets and credit card numbers and email them to yourself as attachments, so you may download copies to assist in obtaining replacements.
What To Wear
Comfortable clothes and good walking shoes while on land. And, since there are spa facilities, a putting green, shuffleboard and fitness room on the ship, we suggest workout clothes. Jackets and ties are not required. We recommend country club casual for dinner.
Please advise Brand g Vacations prior to departure if you have any special dietary requirements. We will make every effort possible to always accommodate your requests, however, please note that local conditions and seasonality can restrict our ability on occasions.

The day before your cruise ends you will be given an invoice for any onboard charges you may have made. Please check the invoice to make sure all items are accounted for before payment/closing of the account. All onboard charges will be in Euros. Payment is accepted in cash (Euros) or by credit card. Your bank/credit card company will convert this into $US dollars at their own exchange rate. Some bank/credit cards may charge a separate fee, as well.
ATM machines are widely available throughout Europe and readily accessible during shore excursions; the ship does not have an ATM machine onboard. Prior to traveling, we recommend that you notify your bank of your travel plans so they can inform you of any applicable transaction fees and provide any information on restrictions, etc.

Huayna Picchu Climb – April 15
Machu Picchu – Optional
$50 per person
For many trekkers, climbing Huayna Picchu is one of the highlights of a visit to Machu Picchu. The views of the Citadel and surrounding landscape are extraordinary from the top and well worth the climbing effort.
From a distance Huayna Picchu looks like a technical climbing endeavor, but is in fact just a steep hike with some sections that will require the use of both hands and feet to scramble upwards, but no technical skills or climbing tools. There are sections that include railings and cables for support.
Anyone with a decent level of fitness and moderate constitution for heights can climb Huayna Picchu (if you are afraid of heights or susceptible to vertigo then this climb is probably not for you). There are areas that are exposed to steep drops, so caution should be taken throughout the climb, keeping a good distance between climbers in front and behind you. This is particularly true if the trail is wet.
The total ascent is just over 1,000 feet (360m) with the summit at a steep angle above the city. As Huayna Picchu is so close to the city complex it provides a fantastic birds-eye view, and the climb itself provides brilliant vistas of the city from various angles. This perspective is very difficult to appreciate whilst walking within the Citadel.
From the summit, the scale and ingenuity of Machu Picchu and its various structures and terraces is fully revealed. The sheer magnitude and complexity of the site provides for a humbling view. There are also terraces and temple remnants that crown the mountain’s summit, and will leave you questioning how the Inca managed to build these structures.
You have an opportunity to participate in this unique once-in-a-lifetime experience on the morning of your second day at Machu Picchu. Only a certain number of permits are issued for this excursion and they fill quickly. Therefore, we cannot guarantee any space until it is officially reserved. If you are interested, we encourage you to sign up early.
DATE AND TIME OF EXCURSION: Your day begins with departure from the hotel at 5:30am and the actual climb will begin at 7:00am, on your second day at Machu Picchu. You will be back down from the mountain by approximately 11:30am.

During lunch, the ship continues towards Mannheim, our next stop along the picturesque Rhine. A comfortable coach will take you on an included tour to Heidelberg, the world famous University City on the Neckar River. The town is one of the few German cities with a widely preserved baroque Old Town. Heidelberg was discovered quite early by romantics to use for diverse literature, songs and paintings. The tour through Heidelberg begins with a visit to the castle. The formerly splendid residence made of red sandstone has been a ruin, maybe the most beautiful ruin in all of Germany. The castle tour leads also into the castle garden. From the Grand Terrace you will have a wonderful view of the city and the Neckar River. The tour continues with a stroll through the enchanting old town, to the Karl-Theodor Bridge, the late-gothic Church of the Holy Spirit and the town hall. Late tonight, your ship continues to Rüdesheim. (B/L/D)
During lunch we depart to cruise the most beautiful section of the river – the legendary Upper Middle Rhine Valley. The view from the sun deck, of the dozens of passing castles is sure to be a highlight of your cruise.
Late this afternoon, the vessel arrives in koblenz, a winemaking town in the Rhine Gorge. On our included guided walk through the romantic streets between the St. Castor Basilica and the Liebfrauenkirche (the Church of our Beloved Lady) you will discover the most important sights of Koblenz. Obviously this tour would not be complete without a visit to the Emperor Wilhelm Memorial at the famous German Corner and the town’s landmark, the Schängel Fountain at the town hall. At the end of the walk you will reach the confluence of the Moselle and Rhine. (B/L/D)
Founded as a small fishing village in the late 12th century, Amsterdam became one of the most important ports in the world during the Dutch Golden Age as a result of its innovative developments in trade.
The tour continues to Amsterdam, which has one of the largest historic centers in Europe, with about 7,500 registered historic buildings. The street pattern is largely unchanged since the 19th century. The center consists of 90 islands, linked by 400 bridges. As there is no better way to see the city than cruising on the water, the tour will end with a canal cruise boat trip through the heart of the city.
During this morning’s tour, the Amadeus Silver III will continue its journey upstream towards Amsterdam. If you choose to remain on board, enjoy the passing landscapes and narrow canals as the ship glides toward the capital city of the Netherlands, where it will remain docked for the evening. (B/L/D)
